One a month
January
The first few days of January were cold, icy and misty. I travelled to Ely and stopped by at ta he riverside area. At one point the mist turned into fog and visibility was minimal. This image was the best taken of the boats by the quayside with smoke rising from the funnel adding more drama to the day.

February
Just like January ended, February began with misty conditions aof t my local woodland location Holme Fen. There are many areas in this woodland and the section where i took this shot has the trees spaced out helping generate separation.

March
March and the cold continues, like a mirror to the soul of winter which fails to give up on life. Gripping freezing temperatures, the cold clings to you and never lets go. The famous lone tree of Holme Fen warms itself on the first light of a new month. The image is a 5 shot panorama which I don’t normally take, but I wanted to show the vast sky and feeling of dawn at the cold end of the year.

April
April begins with rain rain and stays with rain, there was one good weekend and this was it. The mist was back for a few moments before sunrise, the smoke from the chimney and damp wet ground created an instant hit for composition lovers.

May
Hope springs eternal, when a friend shows me where a lone tree is hiding in plain sight. Somewhere in Northamptonshire I cannot tell for it would betray our friendship.

June
June, the start of summer in my eyes, when everything is green and not necessarily good. But I love waking at 3am or earlier for sunrise and back to bed after midnight to be repeated. This image of Normanton church was during tranquil night, the church was probing Pride month, with the colours of the rainbow.

July
Why not take the Milk Way, so I did with a friend who lives nearby we stepped out into the night sky and captured a beautiful image of a radio telescope in situ.

August
I had to include an early August image because I loved taking it. This field was specially planted this year and many people have come to enjoy the beautiful sunflowers which surround the windmill. I have always liked this venue and now I love it.

November
An early November image, taken whilst using up my annual leave and waiting for Autumn to appear, a little late this year. Then overload with trips out every weekend and ten days annual leave, the biggest month of the year!

December
A wet and cold start to December, no snow, but plenty of rain has fallen. The leaves were almost gone on most trees as I took this image at Holme Fen. I noticed the recently fallen tree stood out from the general gloom on a cold and showery day. This year has been a great challenge for me and I have embraced the freedom given at a time when we have been limited again.
