I began using Flickr in 2010, shortly after purchasing my first DSLR, a Nikon D300s. I didn’t know what Flickr did then and just posted images I took, hoping for something to happen. Nothing really happened for the first few images, so I checked Flickr’s explore page and noticed the comments and groups that those were using. After that I grew my followers and tried to follow as many people as I could, maybe too many. Slowly but surely I had moire views, people began to follow me and I had an audience. I have had 24 images on explore with a total view of over 2.5 million. I still don’t truly understand how Flickr works to get the most out of it, or maybe can’t put aside enough time, but I usually post one image a month to keep things ticking over.
